Day 5 - 7: Hanoi

Day 5 Agra – Hanoi
Flight time 4:40 hours

Today you will depart for Hanoi in Vietnam. Prepare to be surprised in Vietnam by culinary highlights, local culture and the use of unique means of transport.

Hanoi is Vietnam’s main political centre. With its broad boulevards and imposing colonial mansions, Hanoi oozes French colonial history at every turn.

Hanoi’s elegance can also be found in the lakes that characterise the city. The city centre is located around Hoan Kiem Lake in the Old Quarter, which is a good choice for sightseeing. The name Hoan Kiem Lake, which means ‘Lake of the Returned Sword’, is related to a 15th-century legend.

In Hanoi you will  stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole, an award-winning colonial and neo-classical luxury hotel located in the heart of the old city. The hotel has been a historic symbol for luxury in the city since 1901. The hotel is located near the historic neighbour-hood, the famous opera building and the picturesque Haon Kiem Lake. The hotel has not lost any of its original grandeur and offers rooms with an elegant neo-classical theme or classic French decor.

Day 6 Hanoi

In the morning, a city tour will introduce you to Hanoi’s history, culture and lifestyle. North of Hoan Kiem lake is the city’s oldest district, Hanoi’s bustling commercial centre. South of the lake is the French quarter, which is known for its magnificent colonial buildings in Bien Phu Street and Le Hong Phong Street.

The tour includes a visit to the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university. The Temple of Literature is made up of five different inner courtyards. An oasis of calm and a pleasant retreat from the streets of Hanoi.

After lunch, you will have plenty of time to explore the city at your own pace, go shopping or enjoy the facilities of your hotel.
